Frequently Asked Questions

What is Shushu?

Shushu is a conversational system that interprets the relationship between people, events, time, and surroundings through “energy structures.” An energy structure describes how different forces in a situation relate: what is driving it, what is blocking it, what stage it is in, and how time and context affect its development. Shushu uses classical Chinese methods, but does more than say whether something will happen or whether an outcome is good or bad. You can begin with birth information or a concrete question and gradually understand the situation through an ongoing conversation.

Can I use Shushu if I know nothing about Chinese traditional methods?

Yes. You do not need to learn the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, the Five Elements, or hexagrams first. To explore your long-term structure, you can provide your birth date, time, and place. To ask about something happening now, simply describe the question and cast a hexagram. If you are unsure which method to use, start by describing your question; Shushu will suggest a suitable direction for observation.

What kinds of questions can I ask Shushu?

You can ask Shushu about yourself, another person, a relationship, an event, your surroundings, or a choice of timing. For example, you can explore your long-term tendencies or current phase; analyze a relationship, interaction pattern, compatibility, or two-person chart; understand the current state of a specific event; compare different choices and see which way of acting better fits the situation; consider when to move a plan forward; or observe a matter through space, direction, or environment. When another person is involved, Shushu works from your chart, the relationship between you, and the facts you provide; it does not make absolute claims about someone who is not present. You do not need to choose a method at the start. First describe the person, event, or question you want to understand, and Shushu will suggest a suitable observation path for the situation.

Why are time, place, and true solar time so important?

Time determines the basic coordinates of a chart. A birth chart needs the birth time and place, while a question-based cast uses the time of asking or casting as its reference. Place affects time-zone, longitude, and local solar-time calculations. True solar time can be understood as the time corresponding to the Sun’s actual movement at a location; it does not always exactly match administrative time zones and is especially relevant for people born overseas, living across time zones, or affected by daylight saving time. Shushu uses location, time zone, daylight-saving, and longitude information for time correction.

How is Shushu different from ordinary AI or a one-time report?

Shushu does not simply wait for a question and generate a fixed answer. When important context is missing, it asks follow-up questions—for example, when an event happened, who was involved, or what you really want to confirm. When you provide new real-world information, Shushu can adjust the focus of the observation. You can also ask it to explain a detail, try another angle, or continue exploring the same question. Shushu is therefore more like a conversation partner that participates in the analysis than a tool that ends after generating one report.

Why does Shushu have multiple readers, and how are they different?

Different readers offer different ways of communicating and different observation entry points, but they do not change the calculated result of the same chart. Shushu is balanced, direct, and structured, for users who want to understand the grounds and reasoning. Ming is more direct and practical, for users who want the key contradictions questioned and the central issue identified. Moon is gentler and more empathetic, for users who want complex material explained with patience. Whichever reader you choose, the interpretation should remain grounded in the same chart and the information you provide; a difference in style should not arbitrarily change the facts.

Can I compare different methods, schools, and two people’s charts at the same time?

Yes. Shushu supports comparison across different methods, comparison between schools within one method, and two-person chart comparison, including relationship and compatibility analysis. For example, you can first explore one person’s long-term structure, then examine a relationship, and finally cast on a specific event. Each method focuses on a different layer; the results are not simply pasted together. When methods differ, Shushu explains what each one is observing.

Is online divination worth trusting? What does Shushu base its readings on?

What deserves trust is not a promise about the future, but an interpretation with stated grounds and limits that you can continue to question. Shushu combines specific time information, chart calculations, traditional method rules, and the real-world context you provide. It distinguishes chart information, method-based inference, and practical advice. When information is insufficient, it asks follow-up questions; when methods differ, it explains the difference; and when a question concerns health, law, finance, or another professional field, it does not present a divination reading as a substitute for professional advice. You can examine the grounds, add real-world information, and compare perspectives to decide whether the interpretation truly addresses your question.

Do I need to provide my own API key?

Generating charts and viewing basic results do not require an API key. If you want to use Shushu’s AI long-form conversation, add your own LLM API key in your account. You can choose from supported models and providers; model-call fees are charged by the relevant provider according to actual usage. The Pass covers access to Shushu, but not model-provider usage fees.

How do I start using Shushu? Does it cost anything?

Free users can use Shushu for basic charting and a 15-request conversation trial, so they can first understand how casting, follow-up, and interpretation work. If you want to keep charting, asking follow-up questions, and comparing perspectives within a complete time window, you can purchase a $9.9 Pass for 24 hours. The Pass starts counting from first use, and the exact price, benefits, and validity period are shown on the purchase page.

Default timezone settings

By default, this follows your device timezone and is used mainly for the casting time and calendar in Divination and Chat. Keep it aligned with your current location. If your device timezone differs from where you are, set it to your local timezone; if they match, no change is needed. Fate-book charts always use the birthplace and timezone saved in each profile.

The absolute timestamps shown in Divination and Chat use device time and only label historical records. If the default timezone differs from device time, the chart and cast itself still follow this setting.

Saved Profiles

The default profile marks the currently signed-in user. Once set, the fate book page opens this profile's generated fate book first; in conversations, the divination agent identifies it as the user, while other profiles are treated as other subjects. Setting a default profile does not generate a chart or consume quota.

LLM API Key

Manage the provider API keys used for conversations. API keys are encrypted on the server and never stored in this browser.

Your LLM API keys

Add, edit, or delete the API keys used for conversations. Only official API keys issued by the selected provider are supported; relay, proxy, and shared keys are not currently supported. Each API key can have multiple model profiles; choose one as the active profile for conversations:

API keys are submitted over the authenticated HTTPS session, encrypted at rest with the instance key, and exposed to the provider adapter only for the authorized request. The browser receives metadata and an opaque API key handle, never the raw key.
